		Confused by the Different 5G Terms? It seems like every time you turn around you see a different communications term that starts with 5G. It can be confusing. To clear things up for you — and help you avoid internet mistakes — here are the definitions: 5G, in the lingo of cellular providers, means 5th. A 5th generation cellular network replaces the previous 4G network. When you see 5G, it refers to the cellular signal. This does NOT mean internet speed. 5Ghz (gigahertz) is a frequency band that comes from your wireless router and broadcasts your internet. This does NOT mean internet speed. 5Gig (Gigabits per second) is a measurement of internet speed. This is ultra-fast internet that's delivered via a fiber network.
